On 12 July 2018, Private Eye published a story about Tower Hamlets council on the magazine’s Rotten Boroughs page.
The story is about the current council leader, John Biggs, and the manner in which he awarded £1.5m to local charity Rich Mix upon being elected mayor in 2015.
The purpose of this website is to tell the full story behind that decision, which the lack of space in Private Eye did not permit.
